How Long Should a PSAT 8/9 Math Practice Session Be?
Short Answer
Keep it short. I prefer short, focused lessons rather than setting aside an hour for PSAT prep.
Finish a lesson, check the mistakes, and if your student has time and wants to continue, do another.
Don't Practice by the Clock
There is no magic number of minutes.
Some days your student may have time for one lesson. Other days, they may do several. Let the day decide.
If they're still focused, keep going. If they're tired and just trying to get through the questions, stop.
If You're Using a Workbook
Don't measure the session by minutes or pages. Pick a reasonable number of problems, check the work, and continue if there's time.
Stop when the practice stops being useful.
Bottom Line
Keep practice short and flexible.
Finish a lesson, learn from the mistakes, then decide whether to do another.
